| WEEK ONE Again I've been lax. There's only so many times I can apologise for such conduct and I think I exceeded that number a while ago, so let's just plough on. South Park is back and is resting on its laurels a little but still manages to amuse. Firefly still seems to be falling between the two stools of space and western, dusting itself off and running at us for just one more shot like some mad drunk. And then there's Coogan and Brydon's latest pitch: restaurant / hotel reviewing with funny voices. It's a curious commission. I shall be watching again next week though I know not why. Also seen in the last seven days: The Sarah Jane Adventures perked up a bit with guest appearances from Jo Grant and The Current Doctor (the latter flippantly twisting the underwear of geeks across the land with some off the cuff remarks about regeneration). There was humour and there was a semblance of a half-decent story, and I was rather grateful for this. Finally, the stand-out programme of the last month, Renaissance Revolution, came to the end of its three-episode run with Matthew Collings mixing eggs with geometry. The resulting televisual feast was truly delicious. |
